The Future of PARC

Since opening for business, PARC has been very active with many outdoor and indoor events, meetings and activities. From a public Open House with tours, a dunk tank, scouting displays and a barbecue truck to a
Dedication Ceremony that included the Dick and Carol Vermeil Leadership Center, the new home of Scouting in Chester County has exceeded expectations in terms of usage and benefit. Future generations of scouts and members of the community will reap the rewards from PARC. This is exactly what we had envisioned and
hoped for.
As we enjoy and get to know PARC, planning for Phase 2 continues to take place. The 20 +/- acres of open space on the property will provide opportunities for outdoor activities and programs. Some things currently being considered and investigated are:
- A trail through the wooded area to the west.
- Campsite
- Campfire circle
- A pedestrian bridge over the retention basin
Currently underway is final planning for a pavilion, dedicated to all Eagle Scouts, just off the parking area that will provide additional outdoor event, training and teaching space. It will also serve as hard cover during inclement weather.
This summer PARC will also hold one of our Cub Day Camps. How exciting is that??!!
The future of PARC is so bright we need to wear shades!!
