Over 104 years of serving local youth through Scouting
The Chester County Council is the local operation of the Boy Scouts of America, serving Chester County, Pennsylvania and northern Cecil County, Maryland.
It has a rich heritage of developing character and leadership skills in youth. The Chester County Council received its original charter on January 17, 1919.
We serve nearly 3,500 youth annually through thousands of dedicated, talented volunteers and a small number of professional staff and it partnership with over 80 community organizations to deliver quality Scouting programs.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout is:
The Vision of the Chester County Council is to be the premier youth development organization to prepare the responsible and participating citizens and leaders of the future, leaders guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
