25th Annual Vermeil Celebrity Golf Tournament

For the 25th time, Coach Dick Vermeil will host his annual Celebrity Golf Tournament on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. This year the tournament will be held at Ron Jaworski’s Downingtown Country Club!

The event includes celebrity golf captains ranging from Philadelphia Eagles players to other NFL, NHL, MLB & College-level coaches and athletes, local sportscasters, and media personalities. On the course, golfers will be treated to goodies such as Wawa hotdogs & hoagies all of which will be washed down with cold Wawa ice tea and lemonade! There will also be awesome tasting Jimmy’s BBQ sandwiches being devoured by all the attendees!

The evening will see friend bidding against friend during the silent & live auctions, as numerous items bring out the “must-have” attitude in many!  Coach Vermeil and former Eagles player, Kevin Reilly, will graciously co-host the live auction, which includes a variety of sports memorabilia, sporting event tickets (Super Bowl), golf outings/trips (Secession Golf Club in Beaufort, SC), and once-in-a-lifetime trips (African Safari’s, Italian Villas, etc.).

The money raised benefits the programs and camps enjoyed by the 5,700 Scouts in the Chester County Council, BSA; one of the most successful councils in the country. The council and its Horseshoe Scout Reservation, comprised of Camps Horseshoe and John H. Ware, 3rd, have been nationally recognized for leadership training and program excellence. Scouting emphasizes ethics and moral values. It prepares youth to be leaders, to accept responsibility and to care about others.  Scouting helps youth accomplish things they never thought they could, giving them confidence to set new, higher goals.
